Snow stacks up on everything you build out there, and once a piece is fully buried the damage begins — walls, beams and roofing start taking hits, and you can see it happening, the same way ash chews through a base in the Ashlands. Leave a hall unattended long enough and winter will take it apart for you. Here's the good part: that damage only starts once the snow is fully piled on. Keep it swept and it never gets there. Spring Thaw clears every structure around you in one press, and Keep My Roof Clear keeps them that way, so you can head off raiding for an afternoon without wondering what you'll come home to. By hand it's about four swings per piece, walking wall to wall to roof. That adds up to thousands of swings for one building, and you get to do it again every time the snow comes back. The Deep North is around two and a half times the size of any other biome in Valheim, so the more of it you settle, the worse that arithmetic gets. Can I pile the snow back on for screenshots?

One honest warning: the top of that slider is full buildup, which is the exact level at which snow begins damaging your structures. It's completely fine for a photo. Just don't leave it parked up there and walk away, or you'll come back to a base that has been quietly taking damage the whole time. Slide it back to zero and sweep once you've got your shot.
